Chilean footballer playing for
Sporting Clube de Portugal. He is naturally left sided and plays on the left of midfield but can also play at full back.
He began his career at
Universidad de Chile making his professional debut on
1999. He made a good impression and was transferred to
Sporting Clube de Portugal for the fee of 7 million Euros. He has recently scored a marvellous goal against F.C Porto from a free kick and led Sporting to a 1-0 win against the rival. He is also a
Chilean international.
Club
Part of the Chile team that won bronze at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, Tello was considered one of the most promising South American players when he joined Sporting Clube de Portugal after that tournament. He made his Portuguese Liga debut in January 2001 and in his first full season helped Sporting to the league and cup double, proving himself a threat from set-pieces. Since then he has not held down a regular place in the team, but enjoyed his most productive campaign in 2005/06 when he started 17 league matches.
