Transfer çalışmalarını yoğun bir şekilde sürdüren Beşiktaş şimdi de gündemine İngiltere'nin Bolton Wanderers takımında forma giyen Abdoulaye Faye'yi aldı. 1.87 boyundaki Senegalli defans oyuncusu 2005 yılında Fransa'nın Lens takımından İngiliz ekibine geldi. Zamanında müdahaleleri, fizik gücü ve hızı yüksek olan 29 yaşındaki oyuncunun defansif yönü daha çok göze çarpıyor. Siyah-beyazlıların son gözdesi Faye, Bolton Wonderers takımında geçen sezon 3 maçı yedekten gelip, 31 maç maç oynadı. Faye, bu maçlarda 2 gol attı ve 10 sarı kart gördü.
Siyah-beyazlı takımın Futbol Şube Sorumlusu Celalettin Kolot ve Dış İlişkiler Sorumlusu Mario Berk'in bu futbolcunun menajeri ve Bolton Wanderers kulübüyle görüştüğü ve transfer şartlarını öğrendiği bildirildi. Bu arada Beşiktaş 2 gün süre verdiği Real Betis'li Assunçao'dan bugün son cevabı vermesi bekleniyor. Siyah-beyazlı yöneticilerin bu futbolcudan gelecek cevaba göre transferde hareket etmesi bekleniyor. Fransa'da bulunan Celalettin Kolot ve Mario Berk'in temaslarını tamamladıktan sonra bugün İstanbul'a dönmesi bekleniyor.

Abdoulaye Diagne-Faye (born February 26, 1978 in Dakar) is a Senegalese footballer. He plays as a defensive midfielder or centre-back, currently at Bolton Wanderers in the English Premier League.
Faye began his career at Senegalese club ASEC Ndiambour, before leaving the then top-three team to go to Jeanne d'Arc in Senegal. He then went on to join Lens in July 2002, integrating into a squad which at that time included fellow Senegalese Papa Bouba Diop, currently a member of the Premier League team Fulham. Faye has made six appearances for Senegal, scoring one goal, and has been a mainstay of one of the most successful Bolton teams for many years, and featured in the UEFA Cup of 2006-7.
In the 2006-2007 season Faye operated almost exclusively as a central defender following the departures of Bruno N'Gotty and Radhi Jaidi to Birmingham City.
He is an important part of the Bolton team and has proved to be worth the £750,000 invested by his manager Sam Allardyce.
