Sport.co.uk Exclusive: Agent – Geremi Turkey move unlikely

Newcastle midfielder Geremi has been contacted by a leading Turkish club but sport.co.uk can reveal that no contract offer has been made.
Speaking exclusively this afternoon to sport.co.uk the Cameroonian international’s agent, Barry Silkman, revealed:
“Only one club [have been in contact], but they haven’t made an offer. All they have asked me is would the player be interested in going there but nothing has happened.
“This has been going on for a week, but nothing has happened.
“There’s no offer, until there is an offer it’s hard to say if he'd be interested in moving.
“It’s like asking Frank Lampard if he’d be interested in moving from Chelsea, his first question would be ‘is there an offer?’ When you say no, it’s not even worth thinking about.
“If an offer comes on the table than he [Geremi] will start thinking about it.
“The last transfer window was the same, so was the transfer window before that…and so was the transfer window before that. This goes back 18 months and it’s always been the same people from Turkey making contact.
“It’s always the same outcome. Nothing happens. To be honest I’d take everything with a pinch of salt at the moment.
Geremi featured for Newcastle on Saturday in the Magpie’s disappointing 2-2 draw with relegation rivals West Ham and was booed off by a proportion of the crowd.
