Wigan striker Jason Roberts says his future lies away from the JJB Stadium after talks broke down over a new deal.
The 28-year-old, who has a year left on his contract, has been the subject of a bid from Turkish side Besiktas.
He told BBC Sport: "I was offered a new contract by Wigan about a month ago that was totally unacceptable. It seems my future lies elsewhere.
"The only bid that has come in is from Besiktas in Turkey and it's something that I'd be interested in."
Roberts was the club's top scorer last season as the Latics finished 10th in their first season in the top flight.
His goals helped them to the League Cup final, where they lost to Manchester United, but he is unhappy with the Latics' attempts to keep him.
He added: "I'm disappointed with the way things have gone but that's down to the club.
"For me it's over, the club have treated me in a manner I think is disrespectful. That's fine - I don't feel like I have been treated the way I should have been treated, but it's time for me to move on.
"We're not negotiating, they've offered me a contract which I turned down and since then there has been no more talks.
"I've not been offered a new one and it seems like I'll be moving on.
"It seems like the club wants to go in another direction which is fine - I just want the opportunity to get on with my career.
"There's been no fall out as far as I'm concerned. We've had a fantastic season - the best season this club has ever had and I'd like to think I was a big part of that.
"Playing for Wigan has been a great ride and I've enjoyed it.
"Things could have been done very differently. But there are no bad feelings from my point of view - if Wigan feel they want to move in a different direction that's not a problem, just give me the opportunity to do what I want to do.
"Football is about opinions and there's not much I can do about that."
The Grenada international joined Wigan in January 2004 from West Brom for £1.4m.
In his first full season at the club he scored 21 goals as they gained promotion to the Premiership for the first time in the club's history.
They were expected to struggle in the top flight but came close to earning a European place until a late dip that saw them win just one of their last eight games.
But Roberts could be headed for a European campaign if Besiktas' bid proves successful.
"Besitkas are a club in the Uefa Cup with Jean Tigana as a manager so that's something I would look at, but we'll have to see what happens," he said.
"There seems to be some interest."
Roberts is hoping his future can be sorted without him having to resort to handing in a transfer request.
He said: "It's not something I want to do. I've had a great time at Wigan and I already feel what has happened has soured what I achieved at this club and I don't want to sour it any more from my part.
"I respect the club and I respect that they want to do something different.
"If the club had offered me a decent contract and I turned it down then that would have been one thing, but I've been offered a contract that I think is impossible for me to agree to.
"Their valuation of me is virtually the same as what it was at the start of the season - this is not acceptable."
